After the national, Paul and I headed off to The Saranac lake region of New York state to do some hunting Paul has really wanted one of the cool "Paul Smiths insulators" for a wile and I knew where to find one so off to the swamps upstate we went... This is the line... It is in a a real peat bog complete with squishy gas bubbles... oozy moss in standing water, and standing water wherever you step. The Paul Smiths Power and Lignt Co was the only company to use the M-2902 and all the known insulators of this type came from their lines. This company was absorbed by Niagara Mohawk in the early 1960's .The M-2902's were in service from around 1906 to the 1930's and do to the remoteness of some of there lines the woods along them became the place to toss the insulators! next photo[id=284547465]
