British Battery Rest Insulator two piece This two piece British Battery Rest insulator is 3-¼ inches wide and 1-5/8 inches tall and the color is light green it is a little lighter in color than the some of the photos show and best of all I see no damage to report. Photo number 1 is the correct position that this insulator was used. You will find evidence of a glass pontil on both the top and the bottom pieces (see photo number 4) which would suggest that this insulator is from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. Information gathered from the internet reveals that these were hand made by blowing in a mold and was probably made by the KILNER BROTHERS in the THORNHILL LEES Factory (circa 1898-1910).
