Regarding question in [id=282102161], here is a page from a 1931 Isolantite catalog showing several sizes of radio antenna strain insulators. Stamped metal fittings were usually used on the ends. The flat rectangular style radio antenna strain insulators were also made by Lapp and Locke during the 1920's.
