West Shore Electric around 1914

These beautiful tapered slender towers are today just a long gone memory. This line was on the West Shore Railroad electrified section between Utica and Syracuse cir.1915 This photo is facing west. This was a main line steam railway built in the mid 1800's that was electrified for interurban service in 1906. It also continued to be a steam freight line during this time. Electrification ended around 1930. The tower line which was removed in the 1930's used Thomas M-4331. [id=281948683] to see a few pictures of a hunt on this line.
