Probably the most immediately obvious difference is in the detail of the top of the sleeve. The aqua ones are finished off on top, with a rough area of glass along the top inside edge. This is similar to many spools, mine insulators, and transpositions bottoms in that when finished a thin "slug" of glass was present covering the hole, and this was broken out as a final manufacturing step.
