I found this today in a antique store. They had two, but only one was embossed. It is heavily embossed on the striking end with SL & SF RR. .....which I assume is St Louis and San Francisco RR. I'm sure you western collectors will know for sure. This thing has seen a lot of use judging by the striking part of it, and amazingly.....the wooden handle is still very solid and affixed to the head of it. Neat RR item and I've never seen one embossed with the railroad before.
