Took a little trip to Pelzer South Carolina today to show dad the old Transmission line and all the glass still on the poles. The other day when I first went there, I thought I saw an insulator in a drainage ditch next to one of the poles, but there was a car behind me and I needed to move on. I forgot how to get back to that area until today. The piece was found on Front Street in a drainage ditch right next to one of the transmission poles. It was buried in the mud. It was broke, but still a neat find. In fact, this CD style hasn't been found on the transmission line before, so maybe it was part of an older line that was removed some time ago. Still a great keeper and piece of history!! |
