Earlier this year I had the pleasure of joining Mike Spadafora at the Victor dump in hopes of finding some Fred Locke porcelain. The M-2430 top shown was uncovered by me in the river after about one hour into the dig. What luck! A little beat up but a whole piece indeed with a #3 stamped on the underside and a nice golden tan glaze. No luck finding the other piece that day so I called up Paul Greaves to see if he had a bottom skirt lying around. I couldn't believe it when he told me that he had a really nice bottom from the the same place when he was there digging. Being both pieces were from the same river was unbelievable. I acquired the skirt from him and now have one whole insulator and a good story. |
