You can barely even call these two a pair - they are so dissimilar because of their crudity that someone unfamiliar with the famous crudity of the Pittsburgh High Voltage Porcelain Company would probably not even think they were the same style! These two beauties are a vibrant, mottled brown glaze with light-coloured high relief points, and caramel spots on some spots. The example on the left has scarcely any wire groove, as the employee chose to lath a very shallow groove into this example, while the example on the right has among the deepest, widest grooves I have seen! The left example also has a lopsided, malformed dome. The example on the right appears to have been dropped on or pressed against something while still wet, as there is a large divot in the dome top that has been glazed over. Both classically crude insulators with beautiful glaze colours! What more could you ask for? Both examples appear to be essentially pristine in condition, with maybe only a little bit of surface scratching. I'm asking $10.00 U.S. plus shipping for these two fantastic porcelain insulators. If there is any way to start a small porcelain collection, it's with two conversation-starters like these. I accept PayPal, and personal cheques or money orders from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me for more photos, or with any questions. I encourage you to look through my "For Sale (Not Sold)" stock, and combine items to save on shipping. All the best! |
