Each year, the Blakely's have hosted a Kentucky Derby insulator drawing. Everyone who wishes to enter the race donates an insulator, preferable worth $15 or more (some entries were closer to $75!). JoAnne Wood donated one of her beautiful pattern glass bowls. All participants drew names of horses in the race. Whoever draws the winning horse's name wins all the insulators! It's a fun way to spice up a swap. In this photo, we see the "pot" awaiting some lucky winner. Soon, everyone was gathered around the TV, waiting for the race to begin.
