As a CREB expert, I can vouch for the color on this piece. The light sapphire blue CREB is on the far right in both of my pictures (backlit and window sill). The far left piece is a very typical aqua, in the middle is a true blue, and on the right is the deeper light sapphire blue. Lee and I believe these are more difficult to acquire than the purple CREB145s, but most people are leary of these since they aren't the same sapphire blue color as the HGCO Petticoat beehives or the NEGMCO. All these manufacturers have a different "standard" for sapphire blue. Anyway, only a couple of rear crown dings and a wire groove rub on this one. The price guide lists these between $250-300. I've seen a couple on show tables at $200 and they didn't move. I believe a fair price for this one is $100 shipped. Shop number is 3 on this 1870 patent dated CREB; must have piece for the serious CREB collector! These have sometimes been called "Windex Blue". |
