Here I am posing with my new find. You can see the old pole laying at my feet. Not sure how previous collectors missed this... but the duff and pine needles are pretty deep here. I wonder what else is hiding nearby?

Since we had extra time we decided to check a section of abandoned power line not far away (not the same line as previously referred to). It was something that had been on the "to do" list for some time. After much searching around in the woods and crawling in the Manzanita, we finally found an old pole and butt stub as it was starting to get late. As we were leaving, we found a damaged M-4384 Fred Locke multipart lower skirt set with a Victor M-4325 top! In the early days PG&E was improvising insulators from parts from different manufacturers sometimes creating interesting "hybrids". Too late to do much hunting, but definitely worth a return trip!
