The annual Rohde swap is one of the very best insulator gatherings in the west. For several years now, Don, Camille, and Bill Rohde have combined efforts to host a truly amazing gathering of collectors at the country "ranch" a few miles north of Fresno. Some great glass and porcelain appears at this show. Collectors come from far and wide (including some from the East coast!). It's really the people that make this event special. This was my third time to attend this event. Ernie Carlson graciously provided his large diesel pickup truck for the journey, while Mid Norris and I helped with gas. The 8 hour drive from Oregon was well worth it. In this first picture, we see JoAnn Wood arranging purple glass sales stock in the early morning hours, while Mid Norris (orange shirt) looks on in the background. The morning started out chilly and damp. But soon the sun warmed up, and the show was on! |
