Seen here are three examples of the earliest script-embossed Hemingray No 12s with two progressions of the same mold. The embossings are exact matches but the molds were re-machined most likely due to wear in the upper wire groove/wire ridge area. The example on the left is the earliest and probably the original mold version. The example on the right is the first progression with a slightly shallower upper wire groove. The middle example is the latest version with an even more shallow upper wire groove, upper wire ridges shaped differently, and a replaced or mismatched dome cap that is shorter and offset. I am always looking for more examples of the script No 12s for this study. Even if you don't want to part with yours I would enjoy sharing photos, foil rubs, or maskings with others.
