I was out hiking this weekend (but not on an insulator hunt!) in the neighborhood of an old power line I have hunted in the past. On the return trip to the car, I decided to return via a slightly different route that would take me directly up a steep hill below one of the power poles. Sometimes things can roll a long ways on steep hills, and so it is difficult to fully search in such situations. This opportunity allowed me to more carefully check just one pole site.

Most of the way up the hill (not far below the pole) I thought I could see something white down in the leaves. Hoping it wasn't just a piece of garbage I moved closer to get a better look. Can you see it in this picture? (The story continues in the next picture.) [id=274471815]
