After a long day at the Yankee Pole Cat Show, Steve Jones and I drove to Hartford, Conn. to see the lot where the Hartford Faience Co. once stood. The site is leveled and has been bulldozed but there are still telltale remnants of the products the company once made. At one spot alongside the rail siding by the loading dock of the factory, there are hundreds of porcelain shards as well as end caps for lighting arrestor housings bearing an ink marked "H."
