Up into the alpine. It's the end of summer but it feels like spring up here because the snow's just melted. We're going up to Mount Reco, where there was a mine and townsite. Several times we all get out but the driver, to cross dangerous sections where there is the potential for rolling over the steep switchback curves. Without a good lifted truck, we would be 12 miles back at the highway parking a car. The truck doesn't get us all the way up, but within a couple hours hike.
