This once was the bustling town of Sandon. Check out this link and then come back for the rest of the photos. http://www.slocanlake.com/sandon/ In 1892 it apparently had a population of 5000, with 2 railroads serving it, 29 hotels, 2 newspapers, etc. Now there are only about 5 buildings in this ghost town. The town burned in 1900, and then a flood wiped out most of the rebuilt town in 1955. The same flood that wiped out the railway access to Alamo, the photos I posted here yesterday. |
