Shown on the right in the attached photo is a [060] embossing "thin print" Canadian Pacific 143, in this most unusual "glowing" light yellow green colour. The piece for sale is the one on the right in this photo, with a "light green" example on the left for comparison. The colour absolutely shines on a sunny day, and this insulator is a good candidate for showing off the most unusual colour. This is not to mention it being somewhere around 120 years old, and having a more colourful history than your average "pretty" insulator. The piece is a [060] Canadian Pacific Ry Co CD 143, in the "thin print" mould, with tiny letters. This piece was hand plucked in the spring of 2006 from a stretch of the CP mainline near Chatham, Ontario. Heck, if you want, I can send you a photo of the piece still up in the air, on a pole! As an added bonus, the piece has an awesome bubble in the front skirt, behind the "IFIC RY CO" section of the embossing, that measures just shy of 1 1/2" long, and 1/4" wide! This piece is in relatively good shape, with a 1/4" ping on the front dome, a 1/4" flat flake on the lower wire ridge, just above the "RY" embossing, a 1/4" flake off the lower wire ridge on the rear skirt, and a 1" long flat flake on the rear base, just behind the left mould line. It sounds bad, but considering the age of this piece, it really isn't bad. Finding a thinprint Canadian Pacific 143 in mint condition is kind of like finding an EC&M in mint condition - it doesn't normally happen. You'd swear these things were damaged during manufacturing in some cases. I'm asking $26.00 U.S. plus shipping for this scarce piece. I accept PayPal, and personal cheques or money orders from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me for more photos, or with any questions. I encourage you to look through my "For Sale (Not Sold)" stock, and combine items to save on shipping. |
