My son and I went camping for a week up near Mt. St. Helens . Part of my camping gear is an 80 watt solar panel, batteries, and lights as well as my laptop. In order to reach the area with direct sunlight I had to string up some wire. I had brought the insulators along to set them up as a mock-up telegraph line but they came in handy in a new high - tech sort of way. I don't think anyone at the New England Telephone and Telegraph would have thought one of their insulators would be used for solar power.
