I found this piece a few years ago on the old L&N RR. in Georgia. At one time each pole on the line had two cross arms. Sometime in the 1980's or early 1990's one of the arms on each pole was removed and thrown at the base of the poles. Most of the best insulators that were found on the line were on the arms that were thrown to the base of the poles. This is one of the pieces I found still mounted on its crossarm at the base of a pole.
