Scarce CREB Pony

You will pick through a lot of these ancient ponies before finding the type with straight-line embossing. neither line has the usual arched lettering. These are embossed using letter stamps instead of Brookfield's usual engraved lettering and this method appears to have been shortlived at Brookfield. Color is a bright blue-aqua and outside of some typical picks and pecks from use, I'd call this about as nice as the day it was made .... which was likely real close to the end of crown embossing around 1897. Has a nice "double stamp" ghost embossing of "W. BROOKFIELD" too. $18 + actual postage
