An ancient Morris commercial service lorry (truck) on display outside of the HPTS&M. More details about this station / museum in the next three postings. Morris was the "mother" British automotive company who also made the better known MG and Austin-Healey 2-seater, small sports cars in the 1950s and 1960s. Kind of like the "GM" of the UK, back in those days.

The location is in Hamelin Pool, located inland from Shark Bay in Western Australia. The nearest grocery store is almost 90 miles away, and the nearest "real" city is about 450 miles distant. Shark bay is also one of the two locations on the planet where living Stromatolites still exist, the other being near a remote cay in the Bahamas. Stromatolites were the earliest life forl on the planet, and were responsible for oxygenating out atmophere a couple of billion years ago.

I'll be adding more photos and descriptions about this fascinating little bit of telegraph history, as I am able to search them out.
