Here's another set of matching molds. On the left is the Hemingray [250] and on the right is a No Name [030] (F-Skirt) PETTICOAT (R-Skirt) PETTICOAT. This is a perfect example of a mistake fixed. Interestingly, the price guide doesn't specify exactly what the blotted out embossing between HEMINGRAY and PATENT MAY 2 1893 is. But after closely studying the embossings on both insulators, they are in fact the same mold, so the blot-out must be PETTICOAT. It's also interesting to note the drastic difference in price guide value between the two pieces! $x1 vs. $350-400. |
