This is the crudest porcelain insulator (in terms of manufacturing defects) that I have ever seen. In total close to 1/3 of the "ears" are shaved right off!

There appears to be what looks like the tails of an "R" stamped on the good side. If this piece was rejected it found its way into service because of the presence of train soot.

This was a piece that got away from me on eBay several years back and I am glad to finally be able to add it to my collection.
