Yet another rare jewel comes out of the victor plant... the second U-339b Loop!!... This insulator most likely had a similar origin and use as the other discarded pieces I got from employees at Victor Insulators ... Namely, It was likely once used as fill for air passages under the floors inside the plant for the now long gone coal fired bee hive kilns. "The Loop", as us mud heads call it, is one of those bizarre pin types that just defies explanation... This insulator appears in photos of several factory displays, yet it was never cataloged by Locke and none have ever been found in use. My personal suspicion is they were part of some early trolley car wiring scheme, but that is just a guess. Interestingly this one has marking 1-8. A different marking stamp then the marking on Bob Berry's specimen which was reported with marking 1-2. (No longer will I bug Bob Berry to trade me his to loop)!!
