Time to attack the other side of the drilled out pin. With a high quality dentist drill mounted in a small hand-held high speed drilling machine, the other side of the pin were slowly grinded away. This photo shows the result after some hours of careful work. The pin is nearly split in two halves. One has to work very precise, cos you don't want to ruin the insulator by scratching it with this drill... This insulator was very brave and had absolutely no fear from the heavy dentist drill! I guess it longed to be releaved from the aching iron pin after 130+ years! |
