The transformer is cut loose and up it goes. The transformer was a very rusty old RTE brand, which is typical of that type. I told the crew after looking at the 'pole pig' on the trailer that RTE stands for 'Rust 'Til Eternity' and got a good laugh! As the transformer is lifted, Doug, the foreman looks over the front wheels of the truck and didn't like what he saw. He said, 'No way are we playing THIS game!' He told the driver that they are not pulling the pole with any truck. The risk of losing the whole works down the hill was too great. He then fired up a chainsaw after the lineman came back down and started cutting at the pole base. He told me "sorry, I may not be able to save the spool rack". I crossed my fingers and over she went, landing right on the end of the crossarms, the spool rack was undamaged.
