Sometimes in the hunting for early classic multiparts, you just don't come up with whole insulators. Here lie the pieces to several M-3022 New Lexingtons. After digging, enough parts were found to restore one specimen. It was quite a project, first involving cleaning, and aciding the parts to free them from the old cement. They were full of cracks from cement expansion, requiring dis-assembly down to each piece so the dirt could be cleaned out of the cracks. I think this project involved about 30 main pieces plus some smaller slivers. Small pieces can be held in place by super-glue as it is very thin and easy to get the pieces exactly positioned. Then 2-part 5 minute Devcon epoxy is an excellent choice for gluing the main parts together; it hardens very nicely, and holds up over time unlike the super-glue. The small bits mentioned above are held in place over the long haul by the 2-part epoxy on at least one surface. Gluing must be done step by step so each piece can be carefully positioned. Gluing this one took several hours spread out over a couple days. To see the result, [id=255994591]
