Heard back from the person I made my offer to. The offer was denied because of finacial difficulties of that party. These three will now go to the first Icon member who wants them. Don't let my pic fool you. My camera didn't pic up the true colors as usual. Please read the following. Some time ago I had a Brookfield/ New York CD 162 in the same color as the insulator on the far right. The color was unlike any others I had found on a certain line. I called it a Dark Yellow Olive Green. Turned out I ended up selling the CD 162 to an Icon members wife. She purchased the insulator as a cheering up gift because he had lost his job of many years. Her plan worked and his emotions were rescued by that beautiful color glass produced by Brookfield. I was amazed when I came across this Dark Yellow Green CD 152 being it is the exact same color as that long gone CD 162 with milk swirles was. Through reason and what information I have at my diposal I've determines that this insulator is a TRUE Olive Amber. I've sold many Olive Green insulators with Amber swirls and the question was should I sell as an Olive Green with Amber Swirls or Olive Amber. I suspect now that I was wrong about all the Olive Ambers I declared was an errror. I feel I must share the blame of this error with other collectors of our membership. I will never mention their names being this color question to my best understanding has been a long standing issue of our insulator collecting community and I was only being adviced that I as the seller would have to make the final call. With this sale of these three sharp drip pointed Brookfield's I am going to make the call I mentioned above as an Olive Amber for the one far right in this pic. I'm still not absulutely sure I am correct and It could still possibibly be an unlisted color. The green on in the center is also another color that must be questioned. It is definitly a shade of green, but which one. I purchased this one as an Emerald Green. I highly doubt if that is so. To me, the best fit based on the limited knowledge I have is Christmas Tree Green. This is yet another unlisted color. I started off this page saying not to let my pic fool you. The Olive Amber isulator has much more amber and looks a lot more yellow in real life. It truely is an amazing color. I would not being going through all this listing if it were not. I could be on my motorcycle doing some servaliance for another hunt in the wild and seeking all I can find at Antique shops I have not visited before. All three of these insulators have some drip point damage. The Chrisatmas Tree Green and the Olive Amber are EIN 050 and the blue Aqua is a 013. That one has the worst drip edge damage of the three, It houses some white junk and touches of amber. I've emailed the wife of our fellow member and I'm waiting on her response. If I don't here from her by Saturday 8/29 they will be up for graps here at Icon. I'm asking $150 shipped. Email me if your interested and I will send pics on Sunday 8/30 if they are still available. I will accept Pay Pal, Personal Checks and Money orders if sold at Icon. |
