I believe all of these insulators fall into the commemorative or reproduction category. These all came in a recent collection purchase and I need to find them new homes. At least the first four I have listed below have been in the hobby for over 30 years and have become quite collectible with collectors that specialize in this sort of thing. All prices quoted are plus actual shipping and optional insurance.

The two on the left are embossed "VTS Industrial Co Number No 8". These were produced back in 1977 for the VTS Industrial Co, which I believe is still in business in AZ. The red example on the left is colored by gold additives in the glass. It has a couple surface pecks, but no skirt fractures like many have. 500 of these in red were produced and some had light milk inclusions. Strong lighting reveals lots of milk in this one, with the dome being nearly pure milk jade! I've handled a few of these over the years, but I've never seen one like this. $000. The Peacock blue VTS ponies were made in much lower quantities at a total of 100 and are rarely found available for public sale. They have become highly collectible. The last one we sold was in our Fall 1998 Auction and it closed at $660. This example (second from left) is mint and offered here on ICON for a limited time at $450.

The two threaded ponies ("CD 102 style") on the right are of unknown origin, but I'm told that only a very few examples have been floating around in the hobby since at least the mid 1970s. As with any of the early reproductions, they are quite sought after. The cobalt on the right has a royal cobalt hue to it and really glows. It's in mint condition and offered at $325. The dark amber (second from right) has a very fine sandy texture to it and is shot full of very fine fizzy bubbles. Light will pass with base lighting or when looking through one thickness of the skirt with back lighting. Vnm condition. $125. NOTE: Since neither of these are embossed with any identifying features, I etched the word REPRO onto the inside of the skirt on both examples. I could not include a year since that is unknown.

The final piece in the middle is a mystery to me. I have seen it change hands a couple of times, but no one seems to know anything about its origin. It would probably fall into the miniature category due to its size. It is weakly embossed "BT/Glass Co" on the skirt and is a thick Cranberry purple blackglass. It is actually threaded with small tapering threads. It stands 2-7/8" in height. If you collect miniatures this should fit in well as a real oddity. If anyone knows anything about its origin, please get back to me. Looks to be in mint condition. I'll offer it at $150 since I know nothing about it. If it turns out to be a more valuable item…well, that's the way it goes! Buyer needs to please be aware that If there is any solid proof supplied to me that it is a modern reproduction or commemorative of some sort that should be permanently marked as such, I will do so before it leaves my possession.

I can provide single pics of each, especially if you need to see the darker ponies with stronger back lighting.
