This is all that is left of a long standing phone line out in the farm country near St. Paul, OR.. Notice the hop yard poles. The line was about 10 poles along the road and had two wires on wooden side brackets. I had been driving that road fairly regular and always said to myself that I gotta get pictures of this line! Recently when I stopped to finally take pictures, it had been stripped to the bare poles :( ! This pole, with the skewed side bracket and a clear CD 106 was the only visible remnant left. I say to the St. Paul Co-operative Telephone Assn. "Shame on You!" for destroying one of the last open wire 2 bracket telephone lines left standing in Oregon. Oh, and like they really care! Uh-huh. They buried the circuit like the rest of their system. |
