The next pole north had a huge diameter downguy cable on it. Larger than any I had seen and also very rusty. But rusty steel is not at all uncommon here on the coast. The guy cable was actually kind of slack and not near as tight as I thought. However the ground in this spot was marshy with a lot of tall grass. During high water, the river floods this spot which may explain the slack in it. I will probly never take a photo with the camera at this angle again! Turned out kinda weird! I sure would like one of those Lapp insulators!
