Here is an old time line construction detail ya just don't see anymore! Notice that some of the down guy cables to earth are wrapped around the pole to dead-end them rather than using a through bolt. This particular pole dates back only to the 1950's but the wrapping method is the same. Years ago they actually used j-hooks lagged to the pole to keep this type of cable wrap from slipping downward. But I see nothing like that on this very busy pole, just a few lag bolts. On the TPUD system, Oregon coast |
