This is an original EC&M arm we spotted on the desert floor. Lightning will literally 'explode' a wood pole if it's hit, so these early arms were wrapped with wire on both sides of the pole, then connected to a ground wire running down the pole. The pole is long gone, but bent staples are still on the ground wire that ran down the pole.
