I took a vacation last week to visit relatives and to my pleasant surprise, I found a telegraph line still in place along the Calgary to Edmonton rail line. This picture is at Lacombe on highway 2a and you are looking south. In all I took 41 photos of this line from Lacombe to Wetaskiwin. The first 2 were taken standing roadside and the others through the car windshield while travelling; surprisingly most of them turned out quite nice, but unfortunately the closeup shots were the blurriest. There is no plastic or rubber on this line, just glass and a lot of white porcelain which impressed me as in Manitoba, white porcelain is quite rare.
