Up for grabs this evening is another, local yard-sale find. I'm not sure how this one made it all the way to Ontario, but the collector claimed to have had it for many years. I think it's about time this one went home. The insulator is a CALIFORNIA CD 161 in the [010] embossing style. Its colour is an absolutely beautiful deep plum colouration. This piece shines in natural light, and the richness of this odd colour is radiant on a sunny day... just don't put it too close to a Canadian royal purple piece. ;)

The condition of the piece is good, with only a 1/2" long and 1/8" wide flat base flake on the front skirt, and a 1/8" wide fisheye on the rear upper wire ridge. There is some pretty typical roughness around the mould line on the base edge. Not bad condition-wise, at all... and certainly not bad colour-wise.
