On the morning of May 4th, I heard a truck noise up in the field, and much to my disappointment, there was a Tillamook Peoples Utility District crew truck lifting off a brand new pole, ready to replace my old favorite! The crew was one that I know the foreman of, who had given me old insulators before. So I went up and talked to them and watched them work. I suspected that they would replace the pole sometime since it had a small square metal tag nailed on it, which means it failed an inspection. I could see why because about 10 feet from the ground it had a woodpecker hole bored halfway through it! Here is the crew getting things ready.
