A view of a corner (one of many) on the 5 mile long 2 phase open Y power line that follows the road along the west shore of picturesque Tillamook Bay to the beach community of Cape Mears on a peninsula. The line was originally 11kV delta single phase (two wires) on Mountain States Power, then 7.2/12.5 kV open Y on Pacific Power & Light and they had to add a third neutral wire. Then after 1961 was eventually upgraded to 14.4/25 kV after Tillamook P.U.D. took over. I suspect these two poles are older and the suspension disks date back to the Mountain States era. Clearance is very limited here along this narrow road and the poles are practically right on the road.
