Byron, Illinois Milwaukee RR Depot Rams horn Insulators..I believe the depot was built around the early 1880's as the RR came thru Stillman Valley, Byron about 1883. I took this picture in 1971 just before the depot was going to get tore down. I asked the demolition guy for the ramshorn insulators and what a grouch..He almost had the roof collapse on him while he cut away at the cross members. I almost thought he desired it for his selfishness but he had to get something for the fruits of his labor..At least I did get a photo of the rams horns...enjoy...
