This is one of the unusual two-piece porcelain insulators. The U-187 Pierece Patent. It is incuse marked on the top of the small 'wedge' piece: PIERCE / PAT. 10, 4. 10. While this example has a mismatched top wedge and body, I am happy to own it! Formerly in the Ruby Bryant collection.
