Harloe Insulator Co. took over the plant in Elmer, NJ after Sterling ceased production. They shortly removed themselves to Hawley, Pa. and because they put this marking on their insulators, many collectors incorrectly refer to these as "Hawleys", when they are, in fact, Harloes. Harloe glass is known for being junky, although many examples are not. This piece is chock full of a white fibrous debris giving it a jade-like appearance. |
