This and the three photos that follow photographically represent the result of a recent several-hundred mile trek to purchase a "small" (?) collection of older street lights. Some of this stuff I already had in my collection...others not.

If you think insulator collectors are nuts, then try the madness of vintage street lighting enthusiasts (like me!). I have been intrigued by them nearly as long as I have insulators (well over four decades).

I packed all of this stuff in my 95 LeBaron convertible and unloaded it without a single scratch either to its factory original interior and exterior. This junque might have weighed more than the car does. Lotsa blankets were used for cushioning. And despite the biblical and harrowing rainstorms I encountered en-route, the car cleaned up and now is as shiny inside and out as it was before. I was totally enclosed by alunimum and steel, using my side windows and side mirrors for added (required) visibility.

Note: I packed everything into the car with the top NOT lowered (it was raining then). I ONLY put it DOWN as shown to start unloading as you see here. A few items were yet removed for safe top-down lowering (not shown in this picture).

Yup, pretty "bad'....

This trek took place on Friday, May 29.

All of the fixtures and parts shown are well over 40 years old and are quite desirable among those who can appreciate these surviving veterans of roadside Americana.
