Memorial Day Special: Feed-Thru on USS North Carolina

Linda and I took a number of pictures of the battleship USS North Carolina when we were in Wilmington, NC in April. Only a few are insulator-related, and I'm posting those.

This is a large feed-thru which was at one time connected to a radio antenna. Some other feed-thrus were still connected to antennas.

USS North Carolina, BB-55, was one of two of the "North Carolina" class (also including the USS Washington) which were designed in the 1930s. North Carolina was placed into service just before Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941. She saw action all over the Pacific Theater of WWII.
