Just west of the last sub is another 34.5 to 12.5 kV. sub. belonging to West Oregon Electric Co-op. This one provides local distribution lines as well as a 34.5 volt line to the west that is now being dismantled. West Oregon Electric Co-op serves the interior region of the N.W. Oregon peninsula, bordered by the Columbia River on the north and east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. A wild, very rural area where no power utility dared to go before! The co-op territory is now built to feed the area to the west of this sub from the opposite direction. That explains the slow dismantling of the 34.5 line west out of this sub.
