Two seldom seen Ohio Brass 3 part multis. On the left is M-3446 and on the right M-3470. Both have some lily shell characteristics. Both have raised embossed OB logos on the ears. The M-3470 is a contemporary to the more plentiful and more popular Victor M-3490 and very similar in dimensions. O.B. pieces are the "Rodney Dangerfields" of porcelain and seem to lack the glamour and appeal of the Locke, Victor and even Pittsburg pieces. Perhaps it was the lack of attractive glazes or their later entry into the field that finds them lacking respect. My collecting focus is on the three great pioneering Ohio companies: OB, Thomas and New Lexington. |
