This was a pretty common sight throughout central Massachusetts and southern portions of New Hampshire and Vermont during a devestating ice storm which brought down overhead lines, breaking poles from the extreme weight of the ice accumulations. Some areas did not get power restored for up to two weeks after the storm hit despite assistance from all around the United States and crews working very long shifts each day.
