These two transformers and the fence is all that remains of the Bay City, OR. substation. The utility here, Tillamook P.U.D. recently upgraded the Bay City distribution voltage from 12.5kV to 25kV to be compatible with the rest of their system. The substation's function was to step down 25kV to 12.5kV for service to the town and surroundings. Now no longer needed they are waiting to be transported elsewhere.
