I never know quite what to say about these pieces... there aren't too many adjectives past "stubby" that can be used to describe them. This piece is a rather unusual style that Canadian Porcelain put out for low-voltage power applications, probably back in the 1930s and 1940s. The nicely brown/black mottled porcelain is characteristic of Canadian Porcelain's manufacturing, and is marked as such with a black, under-glaze ink stamp, as shown. I am not sure what the U-# for these pieces are, but I know that there aren't too many around. I have only ever turned up this one, and a couple others. It measures only 2 1/2" tall, by approximately 3" wide. That's right... this insulator IS wider than it is tall!!!

The condition on this one is immaculate, as it often is one porcelain insulators. I had a discussion once about how difficult it would actually be to break this particular style of insulator. Likely, the relatively few that were ever produced are still in good shape today.

I am asking $10.00 U.S. plus shipping for this odd, Canadian Porcelain piece we like to call the "Hamburger" up here. I accept PayPal, and personal cheques or money orders from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me for more photos, or with any questions. I encourage you to look through my "For Sale (Not Sold)" stock, and combine items to save on shipping. All the best!
