It was a nice warm day here in North Georgia, great weather for an insulator hunt!! Me, my brother Casey and friends Corey & Jeremy decided to go hunt the old telephone line which ran from Toccoa Georgia to Cornelia Georgia. This is the same line that runs over Currahee Mountain that we have searched in the past. With a little research and help from Wikimapia, we continue to find spots that have previously been uncharted. With all the new growth forest, it has proven to be difficult to find the line, especially with all the wildlife cuts where the old poles have been either cut down or bulldozed over. However, as the pics will show, there are still MANY poles left standing, and I am sure with further hunts we will discover even more. Casey, hamming it up here, made the first finds of the day, 2 old brackets which would have housed CD 128's or 129's. No glass yet...... |
